Cologne Police Search for Group of Teenagers in Violent Attack

In the early hours of Saturday, 6 September, a 56-year-old man from Bergisch Gladbach was severely injured in a violent attack on Florastraße in Cologne-Nippes. The victim, a security employee for a nearby bar, was assaulted with kicks and punches around 4:30 am.

The Cologne Police are currently searching for a group of teenagers described as approximately 16 to 20 years old, mostly wearing jogging pants. The suspects in the attack are still at large.

The motive for the attack remains unclear. A suspected laughing gas canister was found at the scene of the attack and will be examined for evidence. The attack occurred outside the bar where the victim works. The victim was taken to the hospital after the attack. The homicide squad is evaluating video footage from nearby private cameras.
