Authorities seeking out potential eyewitnesses

In the quiet town of Barmstedt, near the train station, a series of unfortunate incidents occurred on the night of 09.08.2025. A string of property damage and bicycle thefts were reported, leaving local residents and authorities on high alert.

The Police Directorate Bad Segeberg is currently investigating the incidents, with the investigation unit based at the Barmstedt Police Station taking the lead. Among the stolen bicycles are two Veloboe models and a Conquest, the owners of which remain unknown.

The first reported incident occurred around 03:15 AM on street Am Markt, where a Gudereit bicycle was stolen. A witness observed a group of approximately ten juveniles damaging a silver Veloboe ladies' bicycle in street Nappenhorn. After the juveniles fled, the group moved the damaged bicycle to a nearby green strip.

Later in the night, a black ladies' Rabeneick bicycle was stolen from the bicycle rack in Bahnhofstraße. Unfortunately, no arrests have been made in connection with these incidents, and the exact number of bicycles stolen remains unspecified.

However, there have been some positive developments. Two more bicycles were found in the days following the incidents: a white Conquest ladies' bicycle in the street Nappenhorn and a black Veloboe bicycle in the street Meßhorn.

The police department has also reported another case of property damage to a purple Victoria bicycle in the same night.

The police are appealing for more witnesses, especially the unknown bicycle owners and the two young men who approached the juveniles, to contact the police at 04123-684080. Photos of the silver and black Veloboe bicycles are available.

For further inquiries regarding the incidents, please contact the Police Directorate Bad Segeberg Press Office at Dorfstr. 16-18, 23795 Bad Segeberg, Christian Hesse, Phone: 04551/884-2140, E-Mail: [email protected].

Stay vigilant, Barmstedt residents, and let's hope these incidents are resolved swiftly and the stolen bicycles are returned to their rightful owners.
