Authorities Thwarted a Deceptive Fundraising Scheme by Police Force
In a recent turn of events, the Landau Police Directorate has opened a criminal investigation against a couple, originally from Eastern Europe, who are accused of committing fraud by posing as deaf-mutes and collecting donations.
The incident unfolded in the parking lot of a supermarket in Edesheim, where officers from the Landau Police Directorate spotted the suspicious couple. Two individuals from the local community fell for the scam and made a small donation.
Upon being apprehended, the couple was immediately taken into custody. However, the woman was later released, while her partner was spared the identification procedure as it had already been done previously.
