Authorities Verify Arrests During Gambling Crackdown by PAGCOR

In a recent operation, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) targeted an illegal offshore gambling site, Tbb888.com, as part of its ongoing efforts to combat illegal online gambling.

The operation, which took place in the affluent BF Northwest Subdivision of Parañaque City, resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals. PAGCOR's Senior Vice President for Security, Raul Villanueva, was involved in the operation and reiterated the corporation's dedication to combating all types of illegal online gambling.

PAGCOR has been actively warning the public not to engage with unlicensed online gambling platforms, including those operating offshore. The corporation has also launched a verification website to help the public identify authorized gambling sites.

Tbb888.com, which offers slots, casino, and esports betting, is one of the many illegal sites that PAGCOR has been targeting. Although there are no detailed reports about specific actions against this site beyond public warnings, PAGCOR's ongoing efforts reflect its current strategy against illegal online gambling.

It's worth noting that nearly 5,000 illegal websites were operating in the Philippines at one point, with most of the victims being Filipino bettors. PAGCOR's initiatives have resulted in the blocking of 80% of these illegal websites.

PAGCOR is working closely with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center under the Department of Information and Communications Technology. Villanueva emphasized the importance of consistently monitoring and reporting illegal online gaming sites to authorities.

Revenues from regulated gaming are channelled back to the government for nation-building programs. By cracking down on illegal online gambling, PAGCOR not only protects Filipino players but also ensures that the government receives its fair share of revenues.

The public is advised to stop patronizing illegal online gaming sites and instead play on legal platforms to protect themselves. As PAGCOR continues its fight against illegal online gambling, it remains committed to protecting the interests of both the government and the Filipino people.
