Square Peg Bakery to Open in Erlanger

Victoria Riley, a passionate baker with a heart for community, is set to open her new bakery, Square Peg Bakery, at 3412 Baker Street in Erlanger. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Friday morning, with the doors opening at 10 a.m.

Riley's journey to becoming a baker started at a young age, growing up in Circleville, Ohio, where her parents owned a restaurant. She fondly remembers helping her great-grandmother make pies and cakes for the bakery, and her grandmother running an ice cream cake business.

Before establishing Square Peg Bakery, Riley honed her skills by baking for people in a residential oven. Her passion for baking and her desire to make a difference in the community led her to visit Cincinnati, Louisville, and Lexington in search of friends and support for her dream.

Riley's dream is not just about baking delicious treats; it's about making a positive impact. She believes strongly in the mission of Gabi Deaton's non-profit organization, the Black Balloon, which helps families who have lost a loved one to overdose afford final arrangements. A dollar from every cinnamon roll sold at Square Peg Bakery will go to the Black Balloon.

Square Peg Bakery also has a small table dedicated to spreading Gabi's message. Riley, who has become friends with Erlanger Mayor Jessica Fette and council member Tyson Hermes, is excited about the opening of her bakery and feels it is a fulfillment of her long-held dream.

Riley's famous cinnamon roll recipe is now being contracted with the restaurant, the Hive. With the commercial ovens at Square Peg Bakery, she can now bake more items, such as 45 cinnamon rolls at a time.

Riley chose the name Square Peg Bakery to represent the misfits, rebels, and troublemakers who change the world. She has a close friendship with Florence Council Member and former Mayor Diane Whalen.

Riley has created baked items for various people, including cakes for her best friend's oldest daughter's birthdays and baby showers. She is looking forward to serving the Erlanger community with her delicious baked goods and making a positive impact through her partnership with the Black Balloon.

The opening of Square Peg Bakery is an exciting development for Erlanger, and Riley's passion and dedication are sure to make it a success.
