In the heart of Cameron Park, a new bakery is set to open its doors this Friday morning. Victoria Riley, a local resident and passionate baker, is excited to unveil Square Peg Bakery at 3412 Baker Street.

Riley, who has been actively working towards this dream since last year, feels that the opening of Square Peg Bakery is the fulfillment of a long-held dream. The name, Square Peg Bakery, represents the 'crazy ones', 'misfits', 'rebels', and 'troublemakers' who push the human race forward, a sentiment that resonates with Riley's own journey.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Friday morning, with the doors opening at 10 a.m. Riley has contracted with the popular restaurant, The Hive, to provide her famous cinnamon rolls, a sweet treat that customers can look forward to.

But Square Peg Bakery is more than just a place for delicious pastries. Riley has chosen to donate a dollar from every cinnamon roll sold to The Black Balloon, a local nonprofit that supports those impacted by addiction. The Black Balloon uses its profits to create move-in kits for former addicts and help families afford final arrangements for loved ones lost to overdose.

Riley's connection with The Black Balloon runs deep. She has become friends with Erlanger Mayor Jessica Fette and council member Tyson Hermes, as well as Florence Council Member and former Mayor Diane Whalen, who have been instrumental in supporting her venture. Riley grew up helping her parents in a restaurant in Circleville, Ohio, and her great-grandmother made pies and cakes for the bakery, while her grandmother owned an ice cream cake business.

Inside Square Peg Bakery, customers will find a small table devoted to helping spread Gabi Deaton's message from The Black Balloon. Riley has also created a motto for her bakery, 'spread love and frosting', which reflects her warm and approachable style.

Victoria Riley's journey to Square Peg Bakery has not been without challenges. She initially thought she would wait until retirement to start her bakery, but growing ambition led her to start sooner. Even the commercial ovens at Square Peg Bakery initially intimidated her, but she has since become comfortable with them.

As Riley prepares to open the doors of Square Peg Bakery, she looks forward to serving the Northern Kentucky area, a place she loves living in. Whether it's a birthday cake, a baby shower treat, or a simple cinnamon roll, Riley's baked goods are sure to bring a smile to customers' faces.
