Basement Fire Erupts in Hannover's Sahlkamp District: Around midday, a blaze began to rage within the underground level of a residential building in Hannover's Sahlkamp area.
In Hannover, a fire that broke out in the basement of a multi-family building on Elmstraße was successfully extinguished by the fire department and emergency services. The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 12:15 PM.
Upon arrival, smoke was found spreading in the stairway and elevator shaft of the building. Initially, it was assumed that the smoke was from a fire in the elevator shaft, but it was later discovered to be from a fire in the basement. High-performance fans were promptly deployed to clear the smoke from the basement and elevator shaft.
The fire department and emergency services mobilised 15 vehicles and 30 personnel to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 12:58 PM, and all residents were able to return to their apartments. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
The police have initiated an investigation at the scene to determine the cause of the fire and any resulting property damage. As of now, these details remain unknown.
