Bavaria encounters dream start issues and transfer complications

The transfer saga involving Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson has taken a series of unexpected turns, with Bayern Munich at the centre of the drama.

On Saturday night, it seemed that a loan deal for Jackson was on the brink of collapse. However, Bayern is reportedly considering Ademola Lookman as an alternative transfer target. If Chelsea manages to find a new striker, they might be open to letting Jackson go, and the player himself has expressed his desire to join Bayern.

The twist in the tale came when Jackson was still in Munich for a medical check and contract signing on Saturday. However, Chelsea recalled him due to the injury of teammate Liam Delap.

Max Eberl, FC Bayern's transfer manager, is prioritizing calm and clear thoughts during this transfer saga. Eberl wants to address Bayern's thin squad up front, which may lead to fatigue and poor decisions in crucial moments. The team's strong start, despite some hiccups, has alleviated some pressure.

Eberl is not alone in his pursuit of new talent. Atalanta's Ademola Lookman has reportedly caught Bayern's attention, with a loan deal with an option to buy being considered. However, Lookman's move to Inter Milan fell through due to Atalanta's veto.

In light of the unavailability of Jackson and Lookman, FC Bayern is currently considering Loïs Openda as an alternative.

Meanwhile, Bayern's offense struggled in their win against Augsburg, despite leading comfortably, according to Eberl. Vincent Kompany commented that the team's performances so far this season were not perfect, but they would manage. Manuel Neuer sees the team's creation of many chances positively, with nine goals from two league games, but notes that "not bad" has rarely been good enough for Bayern in the past.

Eberl wants to end the summer transfer season with a successful deal, following a hot summer of transfers for the team. The fate of Nicolas Jackson and the future of Bayern's offense remains to be seen.
