Bayern triumphs over Bayer in a double-header spectacle, setting a new attendance record.

In the opening match of the Bundesliga season for women's soccer, Bayern Munich emerged victorious against Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena. The game, played in front of a record crowd of 57,762 spectators, saw Bayern struggle in the early stages but ultimately secure a 2-0 win.

Bayern's new coach, José Barcala, looked visibly frustrated on the sidelines during the first half as creativity and flair were lacking, with the star lineup often seeming aimless. However, he reacted to the poor performance by bringing on Klara Bühl for Lea Schüller, adding freshness and pace to the game.

Bühl's introduction paid off, as she scored twice for Bayern. Her first goal came from a corner kick, and the second was a five-meter effort after a setup by Jovana Damnjanovic.

Leverkusen started the game strongly, with Carlotta Wamser particularly dangerous from the right defense, initiating attacks. Ruby Grant missed the best chance for Leverkusen after 20 minutes, failing to beat Bayern's keeper Ena Mahmutovic.

Despite promising combinations going forward, Leverkusen lacked ideas in the penalty area, and only striker Lea Schüller had a clear chance in the second minute, but her shot went wide. Lilla Turanyi was unlucky not to get a penalty after being pulled by Magdalena Eriksson.

Bayer Leverkusen appointed Erik ten Hag as head coach before the start of the season but replaced him after just three games with Kasper Hjulmand. Coach Roberto Pätzold of Leverkusen stated before the match that they were not going to play as tourists, and they nearly delivered, putting pressure on Bayern throughout the game.

However, it was Bayern who took control of the game in the second half, with Pernille Harder leading the charge. Despite Leverkusen's best efforts, they were unable to find a way past Mahmutovic, and the match ended 2-0 in favour of Bayern Munich.

The win marks a positive start for Bayern Munich, who will be looking to defend their Bundesliga title this season. Leverkusen, on the other hand, will be disappointed with the result but can take heart from their strong performance and will be hoping to bounce back in their next game.
