SpVgg Unterhaching Advances in DFB-Pokal with 2-1 Win Over FV Illertissen

In a thrilling match, SpVgg Unterhaching secured a 2-1 victory against FV Illertissen in the DFB-Pokal. The game, played at Illertissen's Voehlin stadium, saw a back-and-forth battle between the two teams.

The first half of the game was eventful with missed chances on both sides, but it seemed like the match would end goalless at halftime. Manuel Stiefler changed that in the 45th minute, scoring the first goal for SpVgg Unterhaching.

Jorden Aigboje increased the lead for SpVgg Unterhaching in the 55th minute with a shot into the corner, making it 2-0. However, FV Illertissen fought back and Milos Cocic scored a goal for them in the 73rd minute, reducing the deficit to 2-1.

Despite FV Illertissen's efforts, they could not prevent SpVgg Unterhaching from winning the game. Sven Bender, the coach of SpVgg Unterhaching, was delighted with the victory, especially considering their current top form after relegation from the 3. Liga.

Meanwhile, in another game, FC Bayern II drew 2-2 with SpVgg Bayreuth. The first half of the game was relatively even, but Leon Klanac made a costly mistake for FC Bayern II in the 21st minute, allowing SpVgg Bayreuth to take the lead. Felix Heim scored a goal for SpVgg Bayreuth in the 79th minute, putting them back in the lead.

However, Wisdom Mike scored the equalizing goal for FC Bayern II in the 72nd minute, and David Heindl scored the final goal for FC Bayern II in the 90th minute, securing a 2-2 draw. Holger Seitz, the coach of FC Bayern II, stated that the game was a step in the right direction after their top game defeat in Haching.

With the victory, SpVgg Unterhaching will advance to the next round of the DFB-Pokal. They will play the top game against 1. FC Nuernberg on Friday. SpVgg Unterhaching will also travel to SV Erlbach in the Toto-Pokal quarter-finals on September 2. FV Illertissen, who had previously eliminated 1. FC Nuernberg from the competition, will now have to regroup and prepare for their next match.
