In a spectacular display of offensive prowess, the Boston College Eagles trounced the Fordham Rams 66-10 in their season opener.

Quarterback Dylan Lonergan, making his Boston College debut, showcased his skills, throwing for 268 yards and an impressive four touchdowns. Lonergan completed 26 out of 34 passes, finding three different receivers for scores.

The scoring spree began early, with Jaedn Skeete finding the end zone twice in the first half, once from a 13-yard run and another from a 13-yard touchdown reception. James capped the Eagles' scoring with a 22-yard pass to Pough.

Boston College's offense was not the only unit contributing to the victory. The defense, bolstered by a standout performance, recorded a 28-yard interception return for a touchdown by Daveon Crouch. Crouch also had six tackles and a sack on the day.

The Eagles' defense was instrumental in setting up the offense for scores, with a blocked punt by Comella helping to set up one of the Eagles' touchdowns.

Fordham's only touchdown came from Gunnar Smith's 1-yard touchdown run with five minutes left in the game. However, the Rams' efforts were not enough to dent the Eagles' dominance.

Lewis Bond had a career-high 11 catches for 138 yards, while Jordan McDonald and Reed Harris also found the end zone, with McDonald scoring on a 17-yard pass and Harris on a catch in the back corner of the end zone.

In the final quarter, Grayson James relieved Lonergan, going 5-for-5 for 190 yards and a score. Returnee Broome and true freshman MacCormack III scored on late James-led scoring drives. Lombardo extended Boston College's lead to 31-3 with a 48-yard field goal.

The Eagles' offense racked up 556 total yards, demonstrating a strong start to the season. Boston College will look to build on this victory as they prepare for their next match.
