Pittsburgh Steelers' 2024 Season Review and Offseason Moves

The Pittsburgh Steelers concluded their 2024 season with a 10-7 record, finishing second in the AFC North. This marked the 21st consecutive regular season without a losing record, a record tied for the longest in NFL history.

The Steelers' defense, led by T.J. Watt, once again proved to be one of the best in the league, routinely landing in the top 10 for points allowed. The addition of Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay during the offseason bolstered an already formidable defensive unit.

However, the Steelers' season ended in disappointment, as they lost in the Wild Card Weekend of the playoffs to the Ravens with a score of 28-14. The team ended the season on a 5+ game losing streak, making them the first 10-win team in NFL history to do so, including playoffs.

In an effort to improve their offense, the Steelers acquired Aaron Rodgers as their new quarterback, replacing Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Rodgers, a four-time MVP, is expected to lead the Steelers' quarterbacks, including Mason Rudolph and Will Howard as backups, in the 2025 season.

The Steelers also made several other notable offseason acquisitions, including George Pickens, Mike Williams, Van Jefferson, MyCole Pruitt, Dan Moore, James Daniels, Chukwuma Okorafor, Nate Herbig, Larry Ogunjobi, Montravius Adams, Elandon Roberts, Preston Smith, Tyler Matakevich, Donte Jackson, C.J. Henderson, Cameron Sutton, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Damontae Kazee, Darius Slay, Brandin Echols, Cameron McCutcheon, Juan Thornhill, Quindell Johnson, Nick Broeker, Steven Jones, and Domenique Davis.

In the 2025 NFL Draft, the Steelers selected Derrick Harmon and Jack Sawyer, along with Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, Will Howard, Kaleb Johnson, Kenneth Gainwell, Trey Sermon, Evan Hull, Yahya Black, and several other prospects.

As for the upcoming 2025 season, the Steelers' odds to win the Super Bowl are 4000 at BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, and FanDuel. Aaron Rodgers' odds for MVP are 15000 at BetMGM, 20000 at Caesars, 40000 at DraftKings, and not listed at FanDuel. The over/under for Aaron Rodgers' pass touchdowns is 23.5 at all four betting platforms, while the over/under for Aaron Rodgers' pass yards is 3200.5 at all four platforms.

The Steelers' defense, led by T.J. Watt and the newly acquired Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay, is expected to be one of the best in the league once again. With Aaron Rodgers at the helm, the Steelers hope to improve upon their 2024 season and make a deep playoff run in 2025.
