Bochum Police Conduct Traffic Safety Operation in City Centre

On August 26, the Bochum Police carried out a comprehensive traffic safety operation in the city centre. The operation, which took place from 7 am to 3 pm, aimed to address both traffic violations by cyclists and violations against them.

A total of 184 vehicles were inspected during the operation, including 45 e-scooters, 75 bicycles, 28 pedelecs/e-bikes, and 36 cars. The operation included targeted traffic checks, with 44 warning fines issued for various traffic violations such as illegal sidewalk use, prohibited passenger transport on e-scooters, seat belt violations, red light violations, and speeding.

Citizens in the city centre had the opportunity to engage in conversations with experts from the Bochum Police's traffic accident prevention unit during the operation. An information booth was set up by the unit to provide information and answer questions about road traffic safety. Experts were available to offer practical tips on how to stay safe on the roads.
