Bloodbath Spectacle in Baaghi 4: Audience finds themselves in the line of fire

In the action-packed world of Bollywood, the latest addition to the Baaghi series, Baaghi 4, has made its grand entrance. Directed by A. Harsha and written by producer Sajid Nadiadwala, the film promises a thrilling ride, but falls short in its storytelling.

The plot of Baaghi 4 is based on the theme of mistaken identity, but the confusion never rises above its own absurdity. Tiger Shroff, known for his impressive action sequences, stars as Ronnie, a character who experiences a tragic accident that leads to a coma. Upon awakening, Ronnie suffers from memory loss and hallucinates, fighting imaginary men and questioning reality.

The film's protagonist, Ronnie, displays a violent thirst for revenge, reminiscent of the character of Sanjay Singhania from Ghajini (2008). This relentless focus on spectacle, however, leaves little room for Ronnie's character to explore depth and potential.

The film features a star-studded cast, including Tiger Shroff, Harnaaz Sandhu, and Sanjay Dutt. Harnaaz Sandhu takes on a dual role in the film, embodying both Alisha, the love of Ronnie's life, and Avantika, the doppelgΓ€nger love interest for Sanjay Dutt's character, Chacko. Sanjay Dutt appears as Chacko, a character resembling a hybrid of Bobby Deol in Animal (2023) and his own character Kaancha Cheena in Agneepath (2012).

The film's narrative logic often takes a backseat, leaving moments that should land with impact feeling oddly hollow. For instance, there is a question about whether the so-called accident was staged or not, but the answer remains unclear. The constant twists, sudden betrayals, and endless fights create confusion and stoke the fire, but the storytelling struggles under glaring plot holes and unresolved threads.

The film's spectacle keeps the audience hooked, but the narrative's lack of coherence leaves a tension between the film's earnestness and its need for adrenaline. The film explores the question of whether Alisha is tangible or merely a projection of Ronnie's unraveling mind, adding a layer of mystery to the plot.

Shreyas Talpade plays Ronnie's brother Jeetu, and Saurabh Sachdeva is introduced as the villain's sidekick. Upendra Limaye plays a shrewd cop in the film, adding depth to the supporting cast. The character of Olivia, played by Pratishtha (Sonam Bajwa), is a sex worker who cleans Ronnie's house, contributing to the film's gritty realism.

Baaghi 4, the fourth installment in the Baaghi series, is a rollercoaster ride of action and confusion. While it delivers on the spectacle front, the narrative's inconsistencies and plot holes may leave some viewers feeling frustrated. Despite these shortcomings, Baaghi 4 is a film that is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
