BMW's daring upcoming phase: iX3 to spearhead Neue Klasse at IAA Mobility in 2025

At IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, BMW is showcasing its commitment to an electric, connected, and sustainable future. The automotive giant is presenting a wide array of innovative products, including the debut of the all-new iX3, a medium electric SUV and technology flagship for BMW's entire range.

The iX3, the first production model of BMW's Neue Klasse generation, is set to match the legacy of the 1961 BMW 1500, as Munich puts the question out to the world. The next-gen iX3 will be joined by a supporting cast that includes the i4, i5, i7, iX, X3 30e xDrive, and the new M5 Touring plug-in hybrid.

BMW's push towards sustainability is evident in the iX3, which features the sixth-generation eDrive system, promising efficiency gains. The vehicle also boasts bidirectional charging, a first for BMW, allowing the vehicle to feed energy back into a home supply or the public grid.

The BMW Welt venue is debuting a new high-power charging hub with eight rapid points, designed by BMW's own Designworks studio. This charging station is part of BMW's efforts to make electric mobility more accessible and convenient.

BMW Motorrad is also part of the showcase, presenting the CE 02, CE 04 electric scooters, and the Vision CE concept. The company is emphasising its commitment to electric mobility across all its product lines.

Visitors to the event can expect daily "Masterclasses" and live demonstrations of the in-house-developed BMW Panoramic iDrive. This sweeping display spans the lower windscreen, paired with a new multifunction steering wheel and central screen, aiming to provide a more immersive driving experience.

BMW is not forgetting its roots, with BMW Classic bringing the 1961 BMW 1500, the original Neue Klasse star, to the event as a nod to its heritage.

Meanwhile, Mini is unveiling two new John Cooper Works show cars at its own Open Space and a refreshed Mini Pavilion.

The IAA Mobility 2025 event is a testament to BMW's vision for the future, where technology ambition meets heritage. The "Heart of Joy" high-performance computer orchestrates driving dynamics in the iX3, ensuring a thrilling drive while maintaining BMW's signature performance.

In keeping with its sustainability efforts, 80% of installations and materials at the Open Space are reusable. The Summit also follows similar sustainable practices, reflecting BMW's commitment to minimising its environmental footprint.

BMW's IAA showcase includes plug-in hybrids, electric scooters, multiple EV and hybrid models, and the new high-power charging hub. This comprehensive lineup demonstrates BMW's dedication to offering a diverse range of electric vehicles to cater to various customer needs.

In conclusion, BMW's IAA Mobility 2025 showcase is a significant step towards the company's vision of an electric, connected, and sustainable future. With the unveiling of the iX3, bidirectional charging, and the new high-power charging station, BMW is setting the tone for the next chapter of its brand story.
