BMW's M850i Edition M Heritage celebrates the legacy of the initial 8 Series model

BMW has unveiled a special edition of the M850i xDrive Gran Coupe, the M850i Edition M Heritage. This limited-edition model is a tribute to the E31-generation BMW 8 Series, produced between 1990 and 1999.

Power and Performance

The M850i Edition M Heritage retains its 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, producing 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. Mechanically, the car remains unchanged, offering a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed limited to 155 mph.

Exterior Design

Unique design elements set the M850i Edition M Heritage apart from other 8 Series Gran Coupe models. The car will be available in BMW Individual paint colors used on the original 8 Series, including Bright Red, Mauritius Blue metallic, Cosmos Black metallic, Oxford Green metallic, and Daytona Violet metallic.

An exposed carbon fiber roof with exclusive M tri-color accent stripes and a set of 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels are standard features. Shadowline black trim replaces any trace of chrome around the car's body.

Interior Features

The interior of the M850i Edition M Heritage features M Sport seats finished in BMW Individual Black Merino leather and Alcantara, with a diamond-shaped upholstery pattern. Alcantara is also used for the headlining and door panels, with a further application of the signature M colors.

The Driving Assistance Professional Package is included as standard, and the car comes with a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround-sound audio system as standard.

Limited Edition

Only 500 examples of the M850i Edition M Heritage will be manufactured. "M850i Edition M Heritage" and "1/500" are inscribed into the cup holder cover and door sill plates of the car.

Production of the M850i Edition M Heritage is expected to start in November 2025, with customer deliveries beginning in early 2026. The price for this limited edition car in the USA is $130,400 plus $1,175 for destination and handling charges.
