Boosting Local Goods Across the Rhine-Lahn Area

The City Administration of Lahnstein, in partnership with the Lahntal Tourism Association e.V., is launching a project aimed at strengthening sustainable tourism in the Lahntal region. The goal is to make the diversity of regional products more tangible and increase their visibility in local gastronomy.

The project is open to agricultural businesses, processing businesses, manufacturers, beekeepers, fishermen, hunters, egg producers, hoteliers, pension owners, owners of holiday apartments or campsites, operators of restaurants and bistros, cafΓ©s, bars, and ice cream parlors, fast food restaurants, snack bars, and street food providers, catering companies, supermarkets, gift or souvenir shops, bakeries, butchers or farm shops, and more.

Interested parties can express their interest and provide initial information about their offer through an online survey available at www.daslahntal.de/befragung-regionale-produkte.

Regionality is trending, reflecting a growing connection to one's own region and a more conscious consumption behavior. Tourism can be a powerful lever in making regional products available to a wider audience and tapping into new regional markets and distribution channels.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Economy, Transport, Agriculture and Viniculture of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and is supervised and coordinated by BTE Tourism and Regional Consulting. The Lahntal Tourism Association, in cooperation with municipal associations, the city of Lahnstein, and the economic development of the Rhein-Lahn district, aims to increase the visibility and create new sales opportunities for regional products in the hospitality industry. The goal is to make the products of local producers increasingly appear on the menus of local gastronomy, ultimately benefiting both the local economy and the environment.
