Border Check at Bonn-Gronau: 24-year-old driver found with positive alcohol level

A 24-year-old driver was arrested in Bonn early on Saturday morning, 30th August, 2025, following a suspected drunk driving incident.

According to reports from Polizei Bonn, transmitted by news aktuell, the incident occurred around 00:30 AM on the Willy-Brandt-Allee. The driver, whose name remains undisclosed, ran a red light and was subsequently stopped by the police.

The police stopped a Mercedes driven by the individual, and indications of alcohol consumption were found during the check. A voluntary breath alcohol test at the scene showed a value of approximately 1.8 per mille.

The driver was prohibited from continuing to drive and taken to the station for a blood sample. After the report was filed, the driver's license was seized.
