Borussia Düsseldorf has secured their spot in the final four of the European Champions League, following a hard-fought victory over Alliance Nimes/Montpellier TT in the quarterfinals. The match, held at the Arag Center Court, saw Borussia emerge victorious with a score of 3:1.

In a closely contested encounter, Timo Boll, the 43-year-old table tennis professional, was once again decisive for Borussia's victory, making the decisive point in the match. Boll's performance received sympathy from the audience and standing ovations from the 1100 spectators in the sold-out Borussia home stadium.

The victory extended Boll's active Champions League career until May/June. Despite the efforts of Montpellier, who fielded the two European table tennis stars, Alexis (world ranking 10) and Felix Lebrun (world ranking 5), Dusseldorf managed to come out on top.

Dang Qiu, world ranking 9, started the final four qualification with a win against Alexis Lebrun. Qiu also clinched both of his matches against Alexis and Felix Lebrun, contributing significantly to Borussia's success.

Anton Källberg, another key player for Borussia, lost the match against Felix Lebrun by a narrow margin. Four consecutive shots on Felix's backhand resulted in four points lost for Källberg.

Borussia manager Andreas Preuß praised the team's performance, calling it outstanding and a deserved victory. Preuß also expressed concerns about Alexis Lebrun, suspecting that he might have been injured during the match.

In the semifinals, Borussia Düsseldorf will face KS Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki from Poland. Also participating in the final four are 1. FC Saarbrücken TT and KS Global Pharma Orlicz 1924 Suchedniow from Poland.

Timo Boll, a legendary figure in table tennis, has announced his retirement at the end of the current season. However, his impact on the sport and Borussia Düsseldorf will undoubtedly be felt for years to come. Borussia will compete in the final of the European Champions League, aiming to bring home the coveted trophy.
