Botanical Garden in Solingen: Ablaze with Literature and Music Events

In the heart of Solingen's Botanical Garden, a cozy greenhouse served as the perfect shelter from the rain, playing host to a unique and enchanting event. The theme of the day was "A mix of cultures," and the artistic group DichterNebel certainly delivered on that promise.

The afternoon was filled with a captivating blend of genres, from humorous to sad, scary, and educational, ensuring there was something for everyone. Author Saga Gruenwald, who joined DichterNebel for the performance, brought a variety of texts to the table. From a chilling mill tale to a heartwarming story about fruits, her narratives kept the audience engaged and moved.

One of Saga's tales, "The Spots," delved into the origin of the ladybug's spots and was accompanied by the magical soap bubbles of Remy Matelot, a member of DichterNebel. The fairy tale took an unexpected turn when the forest god Cernunnos sneezed, causing the ladybug to lose its spots.

In addition to the spellbinding stories, the event featured musical performances by Kerstin Ehmke-Putsch. Her repertoire included popular tunes like "Fly me to the Moon" and "Wonderful World," as well as meaningful songs by German artists such as Pe Werner and Herbert Groenemeyer.

Saga Gruenwald also read a tale about a princess merging with an oak tree to protect it from loggers. This story, along with the other performances, was set against the beautiful backdrop of the Botanical Garden, with characters like Sabine the hummingbird and the conceited lily from Lilienthal brought to life by Martina Hoerle's unique garden setting.

The audience was left in awe of the meaningful songs, learning about the importance of taking the wrong path and having butterflies in your stomach. As the event drew to a close, the audience gave an encore and bid the artists farewell with enthusiastic applause.

The Botanical Garden Foundation showed their hospitality by providing cake and coffee for visitors, making the event a truly memorable one. The afternoon at the Botanical Garden was filled with many impressions and left visitors with smiles on their faces.

It's worth noting that the author who participated on Sunday afternoon at the event of the artistic group DichterNebel in the Botanical Garden is Michael Kleeberg, a familiar face in the Botanical Garden due to his involvement in literary and cultural events there.

This magical event was a testament to the power of storytelling and the beauty of collaboration, showcasing the best of DichterNebel's talents. For those who missed it, we hope there will be more opportunities to experience such enchanting performances in the future.
