BREAKING: Trump claims triumph in border wall funding dispute

The Trump Administration is swiftly moving forward with plans to build hundreds of miles of new border wall, as US Congress has approved an additional $46.5 billion to add more miles to the existing barriers. This new funding, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill, will fill out President Donald J. Trump's border wall vision and help complete the gaps left by the halt in construction ordered by President Biden.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) currently has 83 miles of traditional wall and 17 miles of waterborne barriers under construction or in planning. With the new funding, CBP has a 'robust acquisition strategy' to spend the funds efficiently for the border wall.

Art Del Cueto, a former Border Patrol agent and current member of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, stated that the lower numbers of completed miles of border wall are not a reason to let up on border improvements. According to Mr. Del Cueto, walls work by shaping how illegal immigrants attempt to cross, allowing agents to be better positioned to respond and catch those who do make it over.

The Trump Administration's planned use of the additional budget in 2021 was to expand the border wall, with estimates that about 450 miles of new border fencing would ultimately be completed. The goal is to make the southern border the most secure in modern history.

President Trump currently has 100 miles of border barrier in the works, and the new funding will help to expedite the construction process. It is important to note that the funds for the border barriers were not expired when President Biden took office, but rather were waiting for the new president in January. President Biden slow-walked the funds for the border barriers, but they remain available for use.

The Trump Administration is also making technological and safety improvements to the southern border, ensuring that the area remains secure and that agents are equipped with the best tools to do their job effectively. The new funding will be used to make the border wall more effective and efficient, ultimately helping to keep the country safe.
