Brother Arrested in Noida Dowry Case: The Brother-in-law of the victim has been taken into custody, making it the third individual held in connection with the suspect dowry murder incident.

In the quiet suburbs of Greater Noida, a shocking incident has left the community in mourning. Nikki, a young woman, lost her life in a horrific act of violence that has sparked outrage and protests.

According to reports, Nikki was first covered with an unknown substance and then set on fire using a lighter by her husband, Vipin Bhati, in their home in the Sirsa area. This heinous act occurred after repeated demands for dowry.

Hours before the incident, Vipin posted emotional messages on Instagram, writing, "Why did you leave me? The world is calling me a killer, Nikki."

Nikki's son, who witnessed the act of violence, was also present during the tragic event. Heartbreakingly, her sister, Kanchan, was allegedly assaulted the same night.

Kanchan has claimed that she was subjected to dowry-related harassment since Nikki's marriage in 2016. She alleged that she was asked to provide Rs 36 lakh from her home.

The family's matriarch, Daya Bhati, was arrested on Sunday, August 24, and Vipin Bhati was taken into custody the previous day. Tragically, Nikki was initially taken to Fortis Hospital and later referred to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital, where she died en route on Thursday.

The brother-in-law of both sisters was arrested on Monday, August 25, in connection with Nikki's murder. Vipin Bhati had earlier been seen in videos, shared widely on social media, assaulting his wife.

Protests erupted outside the Kasna police station, demanding strict action and justice for Nikki. The father-in-law of Nikki remains absconding, and there is no information regarding his response to the arrest or suspicion of fencing.

This tragic incident is a stark reminder of the continuing problem of dowry-related harassment in our society. It is our hope that justice will be served, and such acts of violence will be eradicated.
