Race Results from Ascot: El Vamos Wins Mile Fillies' Maiden, Raaheeb Makes Impressive Debut

In a thrilling day of racing at the Berkshire track, there were victories galore for trainers and jockeys alike. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the Mile Fillies' Maiden, where George Boughey's El Vamos, under the guidance of Billy Loughnane, emerged victorious.

Meanwhile, Brodie Hampson continued her impressive form, securing her second win at the track. This time, she rode Walsingham to victory in the lady amateur jockeys' handicap. Walsingham, trained by Mick Appleby, crossed the finish line a length and a quarter ahead of its competitors.

The day also marked the debut of the highly anticipated juvenile horse, Raaheeb. Owned by Shadwell and trained by Owen Burrows, Raaheeb lived up to expectations, winning its maiden race by a length and a quarter over Pompette. Raaheeb, a brother to Group 1 winners Baaeed and Hukum, is expected to excel in longer distances, potentially becoming a mile, mile-and-a-quarter, or mile-and-a-half horse in the future.

Shadwell's racing manager, Angus Gold, was on hand to witness Raahee's impressive debut. Despite this, Gold has no plans to campaign Raaheeb aggressively this season. Instead, they will focus on preparing the horse for future races, including the Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket on September 27. In a surprising turn of events, Raaheeb has been cut to 16-1 (from 25) by Paddy Power for the Royal Lodge Stakes.

Elsewhere on the course, Hickory gained a second course win, triumphing in the 7f classified stakes. Hickory, who previously saw off Group 1 winner Qirat in the Victoria Cup at Ascot, beat Fondo Blanco by a length and a quarter.

The day was not without its close races. Brodie Hampson also scored her seventh winner of the season, securing a win on Hickory in the 7f contest. George Boughey, the trainer of El Vamos, also expressed satisfaction with the horse's performance, indicating a promising future for the filly.

Unfortunately, the race results do not include any information about Raaheeb or the Royal Lodge Stakes. However, with Raaheeb's impressive debut and the excitement surrounding its future races, racing enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting more updates.
