Bruce Springsteen plans to electrify certain tracks from his Nebraska album, blending punk and rockabilly styles to modernize the Midwestern sound.
In an exciting turn of events for music enthusiasts, legendary artist Bruce Springsteen is set to release electric versions of his iconic albums, "Nebraska" and "Born In The USA", as part of a new box set on October 17.
Until recently, it was believed that there was no electric version of "Nebraska". However, Springsteen revealed that he found an electric version of the album in their vault, which he describes as being played "like punk rockabilly" and an attempt to bring "Nebraska" into the electric world.
The new version of "Born In The USA" features a country feel and a slightly different melody. It was recorded with Max Weinberg and Garry Tallent, long-time members of Springsteen's E Street Band.
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated biopic, "Deliver Me From Nowhere", is set to arrive a week later on October 23, 2025. Starring Jeremy Allen White as Springsteen, Jeremy Strong as manager Jon Landau, and Odessa Young as the semi-fictional love interest Faye Romano, the film is directed by Scott Cooper.
Set in a time when Springsteen has found mainstream fame with hits like "Hungry Heart" and "The River", the biopic delves into the same timeframe as "Nebraska" and "Born In The USA".
The box set includes electric versions of tracks like the title track, "Atlantic City", "Johnny 99", "Reason To Believe", "Mansion On The Hill", and a different version of "Born In The USA".
In June, Springsteen released seven 'lost' albums and expressed uncertainty about where to turn creatively and how to do justice to the songs he has written for his next album. There is a prospect of another tranche of unreleased material in the form of "Tracks Three", but no specific release date has been announced yet.
"Deliver Me From Nowhere" is not just a musical journey, but also a personal one. Springsteen's struggle, his rise to fame, and his relationships are all explored in this captivating biopic.
In addition to the music and the biopic, fans have a lot to look forward to. Nebraska, an album that was recorded on a 4-track in Springsteen's New Jersey home, is sure to resonate with listeners in its electric form. So, mark your calendars for October 17 and 23, 2025, for a double dose of Springsteen's music and a glimpse into his life through the biopic "Deliver Me From Nowhere".
