"Brummitt highlights an exceptional, uniquely expressive person at the BBAG"
In a move that signals continued faith in the emerging talent of Palace Pier, Quantum Leap Racing has acquired a new filly sired by the successful stallion. The filly, named Neatico-Filles, was purchased for €75,000 from Westerberg, and her pedigree has caught the eye of agent Jeremy Brummitt.
According to Brummitt, the Neatico filly boasts an "unbelievable pedigree" due to her damline, which includes a German Derby second and an underrated stallion in Isfahan. The mother of Neatico-Filles was acquired by Brummitt in Baden-Baden for €75,000 and operates the Stud Farm in Filderstadt.
Palace Pier, who has sired seven European winners at a clip of 22%, is enjoying a highly favorable impression on the track. The leading light of Palace Pier's runners so far is Group 2 Lowther Stakes scorer Royal Fixation, but the filly joins a growing list of promising young horses. Another winner sired by Palace Pier is Morris Dancer, who struck in the Stonehenge Stakes. A Bit Of Spirit, the winner of the Solario Stakes, is also among Palace Pier's winners.
Interestingly, three of the seven European winners sired by Palace Pier have scored in black type company. This includes the Group 2 Lowther Stakes scorer Royal Fixation and the Listed-winning horse Morris Dancer.
Brummitt spent a total of €593,000 on six recruits, with the Neatico filly being one of them. He also purchased a daughter of Palace Pier for €160,000 from Gestut Fahrhof and a Sea The Stars colt for €130,000 from Gestut Rottgen. In a joint purchase with Middleham Park Racing, Brummitt spent €140,000 for a Stradivarius colt.
The Sea The Stars colt is the first foal out of Accola, a Listed-placed Scalo half-sister to the Group 3-winning and German Derby-placed Accon. Brummitt expressed mixed emotions regarding the sale of a €750,000 Sea The Stars filly, as he used Palace Pier in his first year at stud and has a two-year-old out of Palace Pier.
The Neatico filly is a half-sister to Innora, who finished runner-up in the German Oaks on her last start. Brummitt described the filly as a standout individual with a standout expression. With Quantum Leap Racing's history of finding success with relatively inexpensive purchases, such as Group 1 winner Tamfana for just €20,000 in 2022, there is excitement surrounding the Neatico filly's potential.
