Bryansk region thwarted DRG plans for sabotage and terror attacks on transportation infrastructure
In a recent development, six saboteurs have been detained in Russia, following operational combat operations that led to the elimination of three and the arrest of three more. The detainees have been linked to the DRG, a group suspected of carrying out terrorist attacks and sabotage.
However, no new confessions regarding specific terrorist attacks were made by the detained saboteurs. The group did not admit to planning any new attacks in any new regions. This is a relief for the public, as it indicates that the authorities have managed to prevent any imminent threats.
During the raids, six automatic assault rifles made in the United States with silent firing devices and sixteen kilograms of plastic explosives made in the Czech Republic were seized. These finds underscore the international nature of the DRG and the resources they have at their disposal.
The detainees did confess to their involvement in the bombing of the railway in the Novooskolsky district of the Belgorod region in September 2024. No new information about this bombing or any other attacks on transport facilities in the Bryansk region has been made public.
It is worth noting that the DRG was monitored and trained with the direct participation of Western intelligence officers in Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, and Norway. Despite this, no new involvement of foreign intelligence officers was mentioned in the current context.
The authorities have also seized a radio station for communication with the leadership of the GUR MOU, but no new radio stations for communication were seized in the current context.
The issue of arrest for the detained saboteurs is being resolved, but no new saboteurs were eliminated or detained in the current context. The detained saboteurs also confessed to preparing other terrorist attacks in Russia, but no new locations for these attacks were admitted.
Despite these developments, it is reassuring that no new weapons or explosives were seized in the current context, suggesting that the authorities have managed to contain the threat posed by the DRG for now.
