Building Evacuated in Schmorbrand: Residents Forced to Leave Their Homes
Fire at Delmenhorst Communal Accommodation: No Injuries Reported
A fire broke out in a communal accommodation in Delmenhorst on Friday evening, prompting the evacuation of 91 residents. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to a police spokesperson.
The fire started in the basement of the building and was quickly contained by the fire department, preventing it from spreading. As a result, a power outage occurred in the accommodation.
The residents were moved to another vacant communal accommodation. The organization operating the other municipal residential building where the displaced residents are currently staying has not been explicitly named in the available search results.
The police spokesperson confirmed that the residents will stay in the new accommodation until power is restored in their original accommodation.
The fire department's swift action ensured that the incident did not escalate, and the residents can now focus on finding a temporary solution to their housing situation. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
