Building fire and traffic collision - Firefighters in Hattingen respond twice to emergency incidents
In the small town of Elfringhausen, the Fire Department Hattingen was called to two separate incidents on Tuesday.
Incident 1: At 18:45, a collision occurred between a car and a tractor on Felderbachstraße. The Elfringhausen fire crew arrived promptly at the scene and took care of the two drivers, who had only light injuries. No other persons were involved in the collision, and fortunately, no occupants were trapped in the vehicles. Fire protection was ensured, and vehicle batteries were disconnected. Spilled fluids were absorbed with a special binding agent, and the affected apartment was taken out into the open by the firefighters. Once again, smoke detectors proved to be life-savers, alerting the residents and allowing them to evacuate safely.
Incident 2: Later in the evening, a smoke alarm went off in an apartment on Blankensteiner Straße. A fire incident in the apartment had to be assumed. The North fire crew, along with protective equipment units Mitte, Oberbredenscheid, and Niederwenigern, were dispatched to the scene. One resident was immediately taken out of the apartment through the staircase and handed over to the rescue service. The fire in the apartment was quickly extinguished near the sofa by a team in heavy breathing protection. The apartment and the staircase were ventilated with a high-performance fan to clear any remaining smoke.

After handing over the injured to the ambulance, the scene was handed over to the police.
