Building on Jägerstraße will carry on next week
On Monday, 8th September 2025, a significant construction project will commence in the Bahnstraße/Jägerstraße area of Lünen. This project is a crucial part of a larger, ongoing initiative.
The responsible entities for these works are Ruhrkohle AG and the Municipal Wastewater Department Lünen (SAL). These organisations will work together to install four large shaft structures and approximately 190 metres of steel-reinforced concrete pipes in the area.
The primary objective of these works is to improve rainwater drainage in the area, which has been disrupted due to subsidence. To prevent flooding and relieve the sewer system, the rainwater drainage system will be redesigned.
To facilitate these construction works, a full closure of Jägerstraße between the intersections "Auf der Leibzucht" and "Altenderder Weg" is necessary. This closure is planned to last until the end of November.
Large-scale detours have been signposted to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the construction phase. The next construction phase of the works in the Bahnstraße/Jägerstraße area will begin on 8th September 2025.
It's important to note that the company responsible for the rainwater drainage canalization work in the Bahnstraße/Jägerstraße area, alongside the municipal drainage of Lünen, is Ruhrkohle AG. The Municipal Wastewater Department Lünen (SAL) is also involved in the construction works.
The building area Altenderner Weg will be connected to the new rainwater channel as part of the construction works. These extensive works are being carried out by Ruhrkohle AG to ensure a more efficient and effective drainage system in the area.
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow the signposted detours during the construction period. The works are scheduled to last until the end of November, as currently planned.
