In a thrilling Bundesliga encounter, Eintracht Frankfurt emerged victorious against Werder Bremen, with a final score of 4-1. The game, played in front of 59,500 spectators, was marked by a series of stunning goals and injury troubles for the visiting team.

The hosts took an early lead when Can Uzun scored a dream goal from just outside the box in the 22nd minute. His stunning long-range effort set the tone for the rest of the contest. Just six minutes later, Jean-Mattéo Bahoya doubled Frankfurt's advantage with a quick one-two, and Uzun added another in the 25th minute to make it 3-0.

Werder Bremen, who are currently struggling with injury problems and lost their opening cup game 0-1 to Arminia Bielefeld, managed to pull one back in the second half through Justin Njinmah's goal in the 48th minute. However, any hopes of a comeback were quickly dashed when Bahoya scored again in the 47th minute to restore Frankfurt's three-goal cushion.

Ansgar Knauff sealed the win for Frankfurt with a counter-attack goal in the 70th minute, ending any lingering doubts about the outcome. The game became increasingly disjointed after Bremen pulled one back, with several stoppages disrupting the flow.

Michael Zetterer, the former Bremen goalkeeper who played for Werder Bremen before joining Frankfurt, had a successful debut as goalkeeper for the winning side. Despite Bremen's best efforts, Zetterer was rarely tested, with his most notable save coming from Marco GrΓΌll's free-kick in the 13th minute.

A Bremen free-kick hit the post just before half-time, but was ruled offside, and Arthur Theate's follow-up shot went wide after Burkardt's attempt. Jonathan Burkardt, a new signing from Mainz, hit the post with a header from a corner in the 3rd minute, but it was a rare bright spot for Bremen in an otherwise disappointing performance.

With this win, Eintracht Frankfurt has started their Bundesliga campaign on a high note, while Werder Bremen's coach, Horst Steffen, suffered a loss in his Bundesliga coaching debut. The two teams will now focus on their respective recoveries and preparations for their next matches.
