Burbach's road renovation: Saarbrücken is undertaking restoration projects on multiple roads in the area
Road Construction Works to Begin in Saarbrücken-Burbach
Starting June 2nd, the state capital of Saarbrücken will commence road construction works in the Burbach district. The works will take place in both "Im Malhofen" Street and Püttlinger Street, as well as in Koblenzer Street and Saarburger Street.
In "Im Malhofen" Street, access will be controlled by traffic lights via the Fröbelweg. The street will be closed between buildings numbered 1 and 4 for the duration of the works, which are expected to last until June 6th. The total cost of these works is approximately 84,000 euros.
Simultaneously, work will begin in Püttlinger Street, initially between the Altenkesseler and Stahlwerk Streets. In this street, work will proceed in sections with corresponding closures. Subsequently, the works will extend to the sections between the Stahlwerk Street and the "Auf der Scheib" Street.
The works in Koblenzer Street will be divided into two sections. The first section will be between the Merziger and Saarburger Streets, while the second section will be between the Saarburger and Serriger Streets.
The Saarburger Street will be completely closed due to these measures. Access for emergency and fire service vehicles will be guaranteed at all times during the construction works.
The aim of these measures is to repair damage to the asphalt surface and enhance traffic safety. The total cost of the works in both streets is approximately 73,000 euros.
It is important to note that parking is not permitted in the respective construction areas. The works may be delayed due to weather conditions.
The company responsible for the road construction works in Saarbrücken-Burbach is the Stadtwerke Saarbrücken. This company is also conducting repair work on district heating lines in the area starting September 15, 2025.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and expect delays during the construction period. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
