Bus lines 1 and Saturn are undergoing a Change, attributable to the Alteration of Forest Pastures

In the upcoming months, residents and commuters in Giessen will experience some changes to their bus services due to renovation works and temporary rerouting. Here's a breakdown of the changes affecting Bus Line 1 and Night Bus Line Saturn.

The city of Giessen will renovate the inbound bus stop "Waldweiße" on Frankfurt Street, starting August 1, 2025. The renovation aims to make the bus stop barrier-free and is expected to be completed by September 26, 2025. During this period, the "Waldweiße" loop will not be available, and the night bus will not stop at "Leihgesterner Weg", "Natural Sciences", and "Underhof" stops in the direction of Berliner Platz due to rerouting.

Due to the construction, Bus Line 1 will not be able to serve the "Brüder-Grimm-Schule" stop in both directions in Lützellinden. Instead, the "Petrus Church" stop in Wartweg and the "Röntgenstraße" stop in Röntgenstraße will be served during the construction. Passengers can transfer to a connection taxi from "Brüder-Grimm-Schule (South)" to reach Allenbach and Lützellinden. All trips to and from Allenbach and Lützellinden on Line 1 will go via Frankfurt Street and Allenbach Street to the next stop, "Brüder-Grimm-Schule (South)".

The Night Bus Line Saturn will also be affected by the renovation of "Waldweiße" bus stop. During the construction period, Night Bus Line Saturn operated by Stadtwerke Giessen will terminate at the "Brüder-Grimm-Schule (South)" stop. The construction traffic light on Frankfurt Street may cause delays for Bus Line 1.
