Illegal Car Race on Old Cologne Street, Porz-Grengel

On Sunday evening, August 10, an illegal car race took place on Old Cologne Street in the Porz-Grengel district. According to reports, the race involved at least two motorcyclists, and the motorcycle brands suspected to be involved were a BMW S 1000 and two orange KTMs.

The incident occurred around 6:45 PM, with several spectators reportedly standing at the airport entrance gate filming the race. Emergency calls were received reporting unknown motorcyclists traveling at high speeds, prompting the Traffic Commission 4 to initiate investigations.

The Cologne police have been closely monitoring the stretch around Cologne Bonn Airport and are urgently seeking witnesses to the illegal race. No further details about the participants or the outcome of the race were provided.

The Cologne police regularly conduct unannounced speed checks around Cologne Bonn Airport and use an original accident vehicle and film clips to highlight the dangers of high-speed motorcycling. In May, the Cologne police participated in the statewide "2-Wheelers" action, aimed at raising awareness and promoting motorcyclist safety. Approximately 30 motorcyclists were found on a nearby parking lot by the police during the action.

The police are reminding motorcyclists of the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all road users. If you have any information about the illegal car race on Old Cologne Street, please contact the Cologne police.
