In the qualifying session for the upcoming six-hour race at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace in São Paulo, Brazil, local hero Eduardo "Dudu" Barrichello stole the show in the LMGT3 category.

The #10 Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin, driven by Barrichello and Derek DeBoer, secured pole position with a blistering lap time of 1:33.849. This impressive time places Barrichello at the top of the LMGT3 category, a position he continues to build on the world stage.

Barrichello's pole position performance comes despite a strong challenge from the #12 Cadillac V-Series.R, which set the benchmark in both segments of qualifying. Lynn's lap time of 1:22.570 in the Hyperpole session was enough to secure the #12 Cadillac V-Series.R a spot on the front row, alongside Barrichello. Julien Andlauer and the #5 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 will start from the front row alongside Lynn.

The #38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA car, initially securing second on the grid with Sébastien Bourdais at the wheel, will start from third following a grid penalty for impeding car #93 Team Peugeot TotalEnergies' Paul di Resta during qualifying. René Rast in the #20 BMW M Team WRT car completed the revised top five.

Paul di Resta in the second Peugeot (#93) finished the session in sixth place, while the highest ranked Ferrari in the session was the #83 entry, which finished in ninth place.

Eduardo "Dudu" Barrichello's lap time was over two-tenths quicker than the next-best entry, further cementing his reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the LMGT3 category. The son of two-time Formula 1 World Championship runner-up Rubens Barrichello, Eduardo "Dudu" Barrichello is a local hero in São Paulo and is sure to be a crowd favourite come race day.

The green flag for Sunday's six-hour race in São Paulo will fly at 11:30 local time. Be sure to tune in to see if Barrichello can maintain his pole position and bring home a victory in front of his home crowd.
