Canadian Angelman Syndrome Foundation to Launch with Charity Gala

The Stronger Together Charity Ball, an evening of celebration and inspiration, is set to take place at The Carlu in Toronto, Ontario on an upcoming date. This charitable event, organised by the Angelman Syndrome Foundation Canada (ASF Canada) and other nonprofit groups, aims to raise funds, awareness, foster support, and make a greater impact for those living with Angelman syndrome.

Angelman syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that affects about 1 in 15,000 people. The disorder is characterised by delayed development, intellectual disability, and distinctive physical features. The Stronger Together Charity Ball is intended to raise awareness about this condition, shedding light on the challenges faced by those affected and their families.

ASF Canada, a newly established organisation that has recently affiliated with the Angelman Syndrome Foundation (ASF), will use the funds raised from the Stronger Together Charity Ball to support Canadian families and their activities. This collaboration will also enable ASF Canada to establish more ASF Clinics in Canadian hospitals, aiming to better serve families in Canada.

The ASF funds 25 ASF Clinics around the world that offer top-shelf Angelman care, with four more planned for this year. These clinics are essential in providing comprehensive care and support to individuals with Angelman syndrome and their families.

The Stronger Together Charity Ball will include a reception, silent auction, dinner, entertainment, and dancing. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet ASF Canada's team, learn about their mission, and participate in fundraising activities. The event will also provide insights into the collaboration between the organisations, focusing on efforts in clinic development and research.

The collaboration between ASF Canada and the ASF offers more opportunities for clinical trials and research in Angelman syndrome. This affiliation increases access to family services and support for Angelman families, particularly in Edmonton, Alberta, and beyond.

Since its inception, the ASF has funded more than $15 million for research to advance understanding about the disease and develop new treatments. The Stronger Together Charity Ball is a testament to the organisation's commitment to improving the lives of those affected by Angelman syndrome.

By attending the Stronger Together Charity Ball, you can contribute to making a difference in the lives of individuals with Angelman syndrome and their families. Tickets for the event are $175. Join us in Toronto for an evening of celebration, inspiration, and support for a worthy cause.
