Car Crash: Driver and Infant Sustain Critical Injuries in Road Traffic Collision
In Hürth, Germany, a serious traffic accident occurred on the intersection of Kölner Straße and Berrenratherstraße on August 27th.
The incident, which involved a Smart car, a Mercedes, a Suzuki, and two drivers—a 37-year-old male and a 31-year-old female—took place around 11:30 PM and closed the intersection for several hours, until 3:45 AM.
According to a witness, the 37-year-old male driver was driving erratically, in a zigzag manner, before the accident. Tragically, the male driver was severely injured and is currently at risk of losing his life. The female driver and her baby, who were also in the car, were injured as well.
The 37-year-old male driver was driving the Smart car, which veered off the road to the left, colliding with a tree and an oncoming Suzuki. The Mercedes, driven by a 51-year-old man, was also involved in the accident, with the Smart car touching the rear of the Mercedes. An attentive witness provided first aid until emergency services arrived.
Upon arrival, the traffic accident recording team of the Cologne police provided support. The officers documented traces at the scene, secured the 37-year-old's phone, the Smart car, the Suzuki, and the Mercedes, and prepared a traffic accident report. A doctor took a blood sample from the 37-year-old at a clinic on order.
