Car crash on Highway 15 close to Carleton Place results in 4 injuries; charges pressed against a single driver
A 40-year-old man from Stittsville is facing numerous charges after a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 15 in Beckwith, Lanark County. The incident, reported as a "T-bone collision," occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Emergency personnel temporarily halted traffic on Highway 15 between Beckwith 9th and 10th lines, and advised motorists to take alternate routes. Four individuals were taken to the hospital in Carleton Place with non-life-threatening injuries. All parties involved in the collision were treated and released from the hospital, except for the accused, who was arrested.
The accused is charged with operation while impaired - alcohol, driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available, and driving a motor vehicle with liquor in an open baggage.
