Car-motorcycle crash in Hattingen, as reported by Polish police
In the evening of July 7, 2025, a traffic accident occurred in the area of Kohlenstraße/Tippelstraße, Hattingen. The incident involved a 23-year-old motorcyclist from Essen and a 76-year-old man driving a VW car from Tippelstraße.
According to the Ennepe-Ruhr District Police Headquarters, the 76-year-old driver intended to turn left into Kohlenstraße but failed to notice the oncoming motorcyclist. As a result, the motorcyclist was thrown onto the road and sustained light injuries. The motorcyclist was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The motorcycle involved in the accident was a KTM and is no longer roadworthy. It had to be towed away. The total damage from the accident was in the high four-figure range.
