Casinos in Las Vegas Address Gun-Wielding Security Staff Deficit Ahead of Busy Period
In the heart of Las Vegas, smaller casinos in the downtown area, such as the Golden Nugget Casino, The D Casino Hotel, and various other establishments off the main Strip, are often faced with challenges in employing sufficient armed security personnel due to limited resources. However, one company, Protective Force International (PFI), is set to lend a helping hand.
PFI, a security firm that has partnered with 18 casinos in Las Vegas, is gearing up to provide additional security during a busy month in November. The city is expected to welcome millions of additional visitors for the Las Vegas Formula 1 Grand Prix, Neon City Festival, and the US Presidential election.
Recognising the increased need for security during such events, PFI has implemented regulatory changes to speed up the background check process for its armed security staff. This is to ensure a swift and efficient response to any potential security concerns.
PFI prides itself on its extensive training programme, which is offered to all employees, regardless of their past law enforcement or military experience. The company also employs advanced technology systems like thermal imaging in its surveillance activities.
In an effort to support the community, PFI has agreed to help patrol voting centres in Clark County in November. On election day, PFI will have camera systems in place as part of this compliance.
It's worth noting that PFI has not previously been reported to struggle with maintaining sufficient armed security levels due to limited resources. Instead, the company complements the existing armed capabilities at casinos that already have such personnel, especially during big events.
For safety reasons, the exact properties that PFI has partnered with cannot be disclosed. However, the company's commitment to maintaining a secure environment in Las Vegas remains unwavering.
As the city braces for an influx of visitors, PFI is ready to play its part in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
