Castle Proschwitz resists abusive actions by the Alternative for Germany party (AfD)

A video produced by the "Compact" editorial team has been circulating on the internet this week, featuring footage taken at Schloss Proschwitz near Meißen. However, the owners of the internationally renowned wine estate have demanded the removal of the recordings, as they were not informed about the visit and never granted permission for these photos.

Schloss Proschwitz is a place of enjoyment and culture, known for its wine production and international staff. The owners, including Georg Prinz zur Lippe, do not tolerate the misuse of their estate, particularly for party political purposes. Clear signs are posted on the estate requiring a permit for all photos and moving images not taken for private purposes.

It has been revealed that the AfD city councilor Jana Witschetzky, along with a reporter from "Compact", filmed several sequences in the vinothek using a hidden camera. The accompanying text in the social media posts gave the impression that the photos were taken with the knowledge and approval, or even at the invitation of the castle owners.

In reality, the AfD took photo and film material for their election spots on the castle grounds without permission. This misrepresentation of events has led to the owners objecting to the misuse and appropriation by the AfD. They expect an apology from the party for repeatedly violating the house rules for photography and filming on their property.

The owners of Schloss Proschwitz reserve the right to consider legal action, should the AfD fail to issue an apology. They emphasise that their estate is a place of peace and culture, and they will not allow it to be used for political gain without their consent.
