A fire broke out in a multi-family house in Eppendorf, Bochum, early this morning, as reported by the Bochum Fire Department. The incident, which was reported around 7 a.m., was initially not visible upon arrival of the firefighters.

Upon forced entry, thick black smoke was discovered in the affected apartment, and parts of the furniture were on fire. The operation to extinguish the fire and clear smoke took approximately 1.5 hours and involved 35 personnel.

Sadly, the resident of the affected apartment was found deceased, and two pets, a dog and a cat, were also found deceased during the firefighting operations. A doctor confirmed the woman's death after she was rescued.
