Will CDU Chairman Hagel enter the boxing ring? - CDU leader Hagel considering a boxing bout?

In an exciting turn of events, Manuel Hagel, the CDU's top candidate, has agreed to attend a charity boxing event organised by Uwe Hück, a former European Thai boxing champion, Porsche works council chief, and local politician. The event, scheduled to take place on November 12, 2025, in a cinema in Pforzheim, aims to raise funds for Hück's learning foundation, which focuses on education and integration of disadvantaged young people.

The motto of Hück's charity projects, aptly named "Black eyes for social purposes," echoes the spirit of the event. Hück's motto, "We need politicians who are willing to take a black eye if they fight their way through," underscores the importance of perseverance and dedication in making a difference.

For Hagel, the event is more than just winning or losing. It's about the real fight taking place outside the ropes, a fight for education, opportunities, and unity for disadvantaged young people. Hagel, known to be a sports enthusiast, has been a spectator at a boxing match and understands the metaphorical implications of the sport.

Despite the rumours suggesting that Hagel may step into the boxing ring during the event, Hagel has stated that he will not be boxing but will attend as a spectator. However, a surprise is planned for him at the event, with speculations pointing towards Hagel participating in the boxing match himself.

The event promises to be star-studded, with magician Thorsten Strotmann and Hollywood stars expected to attend. Uwe Hück, the organiser of the event, has a history of taking on challenges. He has boxed against former professional Francois Botha and continues to offer personal training in his sports center near Pforzheim.

Hagel, on the other hand, jogs regularly and used to play football passionately in his hometown of Ehingen (Alb-Donau district). His commitment to sports reflects his belief that it is a means of building bridges, promoting endurance, and showing that perseverance can achieve a lot. Hagel sees Uwe Hück's commitment as conveying the message that with diligence and effort, one can get ahead in life even if the path is sometimes rocky.

With around 500 guests expected to attend the event, the charity boxing event promises to be an exciting evening filled with camaraderie, entertainment, and a shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of disadvantaged young people.
