In the heart of Neuss, Germany, the Hanse Weekend is set to offer a unique experience on September 19-20, 2020, albeit in a slightly different form. The traditional Neuss Hanse Festival will not be held in its usual format this year.

However, history enthusiasts can still look forward to "Historical City Views," an exhibition showcased in pagoda tents around the city. This event, organised by the Stadtarchiv, will take place on Sunday from 12 pm to 6 pm.

Meanwhile, the city centre will be buzzing with activity, as shops will be open for Sunday shopping from 1 pm to 6 pm. The Rheinische Jugendhanse, a travel group, has also started a bike journey on the Hanse route in Neuss. Mayor Reiner Breuer sent off cyclists Rachid Hamdaoui (Neuss), Janik Houben (Emmerich am Rhein), and Alex Winkelmann (Wesel) on this journey.

Six Hanse towns will be represented in the pagoda tents on the lower market, including Neuss, Kalkar, Wesel, Emmerich, Salzwedel, and Brilon. Appropriate distancing measures will be in place to ensure the safety of all visitors.
