Celebration of Equality During Summer Season at a Children's Residence
On September 11, 2020, the Bürgerhaus Kap.8 in Kinderhaus will play host to the "Summer Festival of Equality", an event organised by the municipal office for equality in Münster. This free-to-attend festival aims to celebrate the significant strides made in gender equality, while also recharging efforts for continued progress.
Headlining the event is Mina Richman & Band, known for their diverse sound that seamlessly blends Soul, Blues, Folk, and Hip Hop. Joining them on stage is satirist Florian Hacke, who uses his comedy to advocate for equal rights and fair distribution of care and responsibility.
Sarah Braun, head of the municipal office for equality, emphasises the importance of recognising the need for continued efforts towards gender equality. She notes that the abolition of the Transsexual Law and the implementation of the Self-Determination Law are significant steps forward in this regard.
The festival encourages self-reflection on one's privileges in the context of gender equality. It also provides a platform for open discussions and shared experiences, fostering a sense of unity and solidarity.
Bürgerhaus Kinderhaus, the venue for the event, is wheelchair accessible, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet is available. Both photos from the event are free for publication.
The "Summer Festival of Equality" promises to be an enlightening and entertaining day, with a stage program hosted by Florian Hacke and Mina Richman & Band. It's a great opportunity for the public to come together, celebrate progress, and reaffirm their commitment to gender equality.
