Ceremony held at The Hague Town Hall, introducing the latest recruits for law enforcement and administrative roles
The North Rhine-Westphalia University of Police and Public Administration (HSPV NRW) held its graduation ceremonies on August 28 and 29, 2025, at the Hagen City Hall. Approximately 3,500 students from various programmes received their Bachelor certificates during these ceremonies.
The dual study program at HSPV NRW prepares students for their first entry level positions in the police, state administration, municipal administration, and pension insurance sectors. On August 29, 188 students from the Hagen Police Service (PVD) and 97 from the Municipal Administrative Service (KVD) graduated. These students are affiliated with WBS TRAINING in Hagen City and will provide their services primarily in the Hagen region and its surroundings.
The graduation ceremony began with welcoming words from Mayor Erik O. Schulz and Hagen Police President Ursula Tomahogh. HSPV Vice-President Prof. Dr. Iris Wiesner emphasised the importance of academic qualification for the graduates' future tasks. The top graduates of the year were awarded during the ceremony.
The student representative delivered a look back and forward during the celebration, while Imam Turan, a representative of the three major religions, spoke during the event. The group "Ich und Du" provided musical accompaniment, adding a festive atmosphere to the occasion.
After completing their studies and training, HSPV NRW graduates will begin their careers in the police, municipal, state administration, and pension insurance sectors. HSPV NRW offers a Master's program, the Master of Public Management (MPM), for those wishing to further their education.
