In the heart of Pforzheim, a unique initiative called "Our Tree for Pforzheim" has been thriving since 2019. This tree donation campaign has seen the planting of 25 new city trees and large shrubs, transforming the cityscape and contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.

The campaign, which is no longer accepting donations as the post is archived, has resulted in the planting of various trees, such as a large-flowered magnolia in the city garden and a Hungarian oak at Heinrich-Wieland-Allee towards Brettener Straße.

Environmental Mayor Sibylle Schuessler expresses her gratitude to the donors for their contributions, with donors who participated between autumn 2021 and spring 2023 receiving a certificate of thanks. Schüssler recently announced that the next collection donation tree will be a 'Allershausen' red maple, to replace a red maple removed due to a lightning strike. Seven more trees are funded and will be planted in the next planting period between autumn 2023 and spring 2024, with 265 euros still needed for the 'Allershausen' red maple.

Citizens can support the replanting of old or sick city trees through donations, with a minimum contribution of 20 euros. From a contribution of 750 euros, donors can choose "their" tree from a suggestion list. Interested parties can find information about the "Our Tree for Pforzheim" tree donation campaign and a downloadable flyer on www.pforzheim.de/baumspende.

The locations for the upcoming plantings include the playground in the Sonnenstraße in Eutingen, the old cemetery in the East City, the churchyard in Büchenbronn, and the Benckiser park. The complete replanting of a tree, including site preparation and three years of care, costs around 1,700 euros.

Despite the archiving of the campaign's post, the initiative remains a testament to the power of community action. Donors are actively helping make the city more beautiful, greener, and sustainable for future generations. Although no current telephone or contact options are available for the "Our Tree for Pforzheim" action, the impact of this initiative continues to resonate, leaving a lasting green legacy in Pforzheim.
