Chaotic Traffic Accident in Oberkassel: High-Speed Vehicle Pursuit Results in Injuries for Four Individuals

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 02:45 AM, a traffic accident occurred in the Rhein-Allee tunnel, Düsseldorf. The incident involved two VW Golf cars, driven by a 33-year-old resident of Bonn and a 22-year-old Dutch national.

According to preliminary investigations, the accident was a result of a suspected car race. Four people were lightly injured, with the Dutch driver and front passenger requiring outpatient hospital treatment.

The drivers are suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following the incident. Blood samples were taken from both drivers, and the vehicles were impounded.

Evidence was carefully secured by the traffic accident investigation team.
