Chaotic Weekend in Berlin: Weapon Discovered Beneath a Vehicle – City Left Stunned by Scissor Assault
In a troubling turn of events, Berlin has witnessed a series of knife attacks over the weekend, leaving several individuals injured. The neighborhoods of Wedding, Gesundbrunnen, Rummelsburg, Torstraße, Neukölln, and Mitte have been affected by these violent incidents.
Last Friday evening, a 26-year-old was stabbed on Sonnenallee in Neukölln. The motive for the attack remains unclear, and the weapon used was secured at the scene. The same night, a 54-year-old was injured in Rummelsburg during a mugging in Wöhnichstraße. The suspects threatened the victim with a knife and fled after the incident, leaving the 54-year-old with a deep cut.
On Saturday evening, the violence continued. A 26-year-old was injured in Torstraße, sustaining head wounds and a cut to his thigh after being attacked with scissors. Meanwhile, two men, aged 25 and 26, were injured at Friedrichsbrücke. One of them sustained a lip injury, while the other was stabbed in the back.
The perpetrators in these incidents, including the clashes in Rummelsburg, Wedding, Gesundbrunnen, and Torstraße, involve groups with individuals of Afghan and Syrian origin. This was also reported in the violent confrontation near the Humboldt Forum in Berlin-Mitte, which led to severe injuries and police investigations for attempted homicide.
The series of attacks continued into Sunday night, with more incidents reported in Mitte. A hunting knife was found under a parked car in the Torstraße incident, and it's being investigated as a possible weapon in the incident.
Authorities have taken all cases up for investigation by the criminal police. The victims of these attacks have sought help at various locations, including the Red City Hall.
The city of Berlin is urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police. The city administration is also working closely with the police to address this escalating issue and ensure the safety of its citizens.
