Charity Football Tournament in 2025: Kickballs for a Noble Purpose (MAINGAU Benefit Cup 2025)
The small town of Obertshausen is gearing up for a special event on September 6, 2025. The MAINGAU Benefizcup is making its much-anticipated return after a ten-year hiatus, and this time, it promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The tournament, taking place at the TGS Hausen in Obertshausen, will see 18 hobby teams from the city and region compete, including a team from the local fire department. Some of the participating teams include Ouzo Obertshausen, DHL's company team, FC Oberschlesien, FC Löwen 1905, SG TGS Hausen/TV Hausen, and the Pospischil football school.
The MAINGAU Energie GmbH is the main and naming sponsor of the event, with DHL Group, Sparkasse Langen-Seligenstadt, Frankfurter Volksbank Rhein Main, Dr. Carl and Ellen Kloß Foundation, Glaabsbrau brewery, and Edeka Deckenbach also lending their support.
Steffen Bogdahn, chairman of TGS Hausen and co-organizer, is looking forward to the tournament. He said, "The MAINGAU Benefizcup is not just about sports; it includes a framework program with children's activities, information stands, culinary offers, and music."
The musical entertainment will be provided by "Band without a name" from 7 pm. The tournament will also feature an auction of football jerseys, such as those of Mario Götze from Eintracht Frankfurt and Andrej Kramarić from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
Admission to the tournament is free, and for more information about the tournament, teams, and the framework program, visit www.benefizcup.com. The full schedule of the tournament is also available online.
The profits from the tournament will go to the voluntary fire department of Obertshausen and the children's and youth fire brigade. The promised amount of donations is already in the five-digit range, with the goal of exceeding the over 10,000 euros from the premiere in 2015.
The final is scheduled for 5:50 pm, followed by the announcement of the winners and the total amount raised. With the support of the community and the generous sponsors, the MAINGAU Benefizcup 2025 is set to be a day of fun, football, and fundraising for a great cause.
