Cheese product recalls issued in recent weeks due to Listeria contamination concerns.
FROMI USA has announced a recall of 12 cases of Brie Royal Faucon 1kg, following potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. This recall does not appear to be connected with any previous Wegmans cheese recalls.
The affected cheese was distributed to Cheese Plate Park Slope LLC, located at 400 7th Avenue, 11215 Brooklyn NY, and was sold at Cheese Plate Brooklyn - Park Slope LLC., and Cheese Plate Brooklyn : Carroll Gardens from July 24, 2025, to August 13, 2025.
In addition, approximately 5,433 pounds of the affected cheese were sold in Ohio, with the Middlefield Original Cheese Co-Op products involved in the recall being sold between July 14 and August 7, 2025. These products were offered in retail stores across Ohio.
Consumers who purchased the recalled Brie Royal Faucon 1kg are advised not to eat it and return it for a refund. For questions or concerns, consumers can contact Middlefield Original Cheese Co-Op at 440-632-5567 (Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. EDT), Wegmans Food Markets at 1-855-934-3663 (daily, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. EDT), or FROMI USA directly at +1 212 583 4920 from 9 am to 5 pm EDT Monday - Friday.
It is important to note that Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
Consumers are encouraged to check their purchases and dispose of any recalled Brie Royal Faucon 1kg. For more information, visit the FDA's website or contact the relevant authorities directly.
